    Butler and Warren Counties are bustling southwestern Ohio communities nestled between the major metropolitan areas of Cincinnati and Dayton. County officials have a vision for Butler County. They want to spend more than $100 million in the next five years to turn Butler into the region's high-tech center. Already, Butler envisions spending more money than perhaps any Ohio county in pursuit of the high-tech dream. A recent decision to spend $2.7 million for an 86-mile fiber-optic network is expected to provide state-of-the-art, high-speed transmission of voice, video and data. It's the only publicly funded network in the region and just the beginning of what officials have underway.

Warren County, situated just east of Butler County, has seen tremendous growth as well. Over the last decade they have experienced an amazing 39% increase. The total population is estimated today at 175,133 residents. The median household income is $57,95. The most sought after area within Warren County is the city of Mason. Mason is located 22 miles northeast of Cincinnati and six miles from West Chester. This blossoming city is recognized as "the resort area of southwest Ohio." Mason, with a population of 22,000, has preserved its small town charm, but maintains a high level of municipal services and a prestigious corporate community. Over $50 million in utility and infrastructure projects have prepared the city for their ongoing growth.

Cintas Corporation, Mitsubishi, Procter & Gamble's Health Care Research Center, and Luxottica Retail are among the premier companies located in Mason. Paramount's Kings Island Amusement Park, The Beach Waterpark, and The Golf Center at Kings Island are among the prominent recreation destinations in Mason. Mason is home to the world-recognized Tennis Masters Series-Cincinnati as well as several well-loved local annual events. The average new single-family residence in Mason contains 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and approximately 2,800 square feet. The median value for a home like this was $320,000 in 2003.
